The Nature Education Centre is a non- profit organisation
which loans live animals to schools as an educational resource. Forced to
relocate during the BER process, a new building was designed and constructed on
a tight schedule and limited budget. A challenging narrow site wedged between
the school and the farm, and a requirement to integrate with the existing
school context, prompted a design which mimics adjacent forms and materials
whilst providing a playful and distinctive building for NEC operations. Photography:
